In KLIA

In KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport) while i am waiting for the plane.



I took 11.35pm plane from KLIA to Narita Airport, Tokyo. I just slept for 2 hours in the plane. I am tired but i still can't sleep. The Japanese guy who sat beside me keep on moving and he keep on watching movie from the beginning of the journey till the end of the journey ( when the air-stewardess wanted to keep the earphone). Finally, i reached Narita Airport at around 6.53am, 6th of December. Then, i went through all the process in the immigration there. When i was rushing to take the train at 7.53am, a Japanese police who dress up nice and neat stopped me. Frankly, he is handsome.haha:) He asked me the duration and the purpose i come to Japan. Then, he jotted down my name and passport number. He thought that i was panic that time and he told me not to be panic as it is just a normal procedure. In fact, i just don't want to miss the early train. If i miss the 7.53am train, then, i have to wait for the 8.34am train. Luckily, i did not miss the train and after taking another 2 trains, i reached my uncle and aunty's house at jiyugaoka around 10.30am.

Tokyo

Sorry for not updating for such a long time. I am in Tokyo, Japan now. I will stay here till 3rd of Jan 09. Life here is good, full of excitement and perhaps, culture shock. Though Japan and Malaysia are countries in Asia, both of them are really different. I am here for about one week but i found out lots of reasons that i fall in love with the life in Japan compared to Malaysia. Firstly, i like the weather most. The weather here suits me better. I can walk a lot and have outings since the weather is cold and soothing. I can say that the walking i did within these week were equivalent the walking i did in Malaysia for at least 6 month or more. ( can imagine how little i walk in Malaysia, right? The weather in Malaysia is hot and humid). Besides, cycling is good to do so.

Secondly, the transport system here is superb. Most of the Japanese will use the transport system to get around and working. They would not compromise train to be late even for few minutes. The train, subways and bus are very punctual. There are 3 categories of the train and subways, which are local (各停), express (急行) and limited express(特急). Most importantly, the fare for these 3 categories are same. So far, no delay train that i have experienced whereas in Malaysia, the transport system is lousy. Not punctual, delay, slow, time-consuming, etc. Malaysians or those who used the transport system in Malaysia especially KTM and bus, you would feel angry and frustrated with the bad service. Frankly, Malaysians are used with it and for most of them, they prefer to drive rather than using the public transport system.

Furthermore, most of the people here are polite, friendly and helpful. Whenever i need to ask the direction of a place, they are willing to bring me there. Once, there is even a lady help me to phone my aunty's house using her mobile phone. Besides that, shopping here is good. Some of the stuffs are consider reasonable where most of the stuffs here are expensive. When we shop all those branded stores such as Coach, Burberry, LV, Gucci, etc, the staffs there are very polite though we are window-shopping. Unlike in Malaysia, the salespersons will look very irritating and seems look down at those who won't buy or dress undecently when they walk into the shop.

Overall, Japan is really a nice country to live in other than the living expenses here is high and the language barrier.

guilty

I feel so guilty for doing something. I keep on persuading myself it is just a small matter but i feel so guilty and i feel uneasy and afraid of the ways people look at and judge about me. However, i think it is the better way(not really a good way) to handle this matter under this situation. God, please forgive me. I promise i won't repeat it next time. I swear.

Batch 19th of Cadet Reporter of Sin Chew Daily (xue ji)

The title for this post is really long. In Mandarin, it is "xue ji" and if translated to English, it is something like cadet reporters. When i am studying half-way of public law, my brain is stuck with rule of law, separation of power, electoral system, etc, my mind just popped out with things related to it. Let me reminisce my time when i was a "xue ji". Frankly, i admitted i put less time here compared to Leo Club during my studies in secondary school. I will regret sometimes as i miss out a lot of things. We had 4 major activities but i just participated 2 of them. Actually, i did join another activity but i was so sick that time that i did not turned out even though i paid the money. I intended to go but i really can't make it.

That's why i knew not much friends there. However, i am still able to make few nice friends. Most of them are from Sam Tet since both of our schools are considered near to each other. Not forgetting "xue ji" from my own school, Ave Maria Convent. Hsiao Lynn and me were persuaded to join "xue ji" by Debbie, senior from Leo Club. At that time, we were so blurred about it. Luckily, fellow friends in "xue ji" who are from different schools in Perak are so friendly, nice and caring. The most memorable event that i had been organized was the "pei xun ying", which means a training camp for the batch 20th of "xue ji". I was one of the decorators who are in charge of the opening ceremony and background of the stage and the facilitator. Both jobs are challenging. Due to the complexity of the opening ceremony, we did not sleep for the whole night yet we still had to do a lot of physical activities (run here and there). I was so tired that time. I can even sleep when i was writing. Chang Yuan and Soon Yap who are so worried of us keep on asking us to rest when we were not involved of the particular section. Chang Yuan is very well-versed in Chinese where he can wrote me a message using olden chinese language, "bai hua wen". He is really amazing. Soon Yap is good in playing guitar and he likes to sing Jay Chou's songs.

Another incident that i feel so touching is the kind gesture of the members of my group which is facilitated. I was in severe gastric pain because i did not eat since the day before. I was too busy and i forgot to eat. They are so worried and they quickly got me big plate of rice with different vegetables. Since one of the rules of the camp is "no food can be wasted", i had to gobble up all the rice which were double or tripple amount of rice that i ate normally.

I got a lot from these "pei xun ying". Memories which lies in my heart forever and ever. We cried and hugged each other when the camp came to an end. Hsiao Lynn, Wai Sin, Yee Yee, Lian Shuang, Yong Khai, Chang Yuan, Soon Yap, Jia Jaw, Wai Kin, Hung Wei, Pei Pei, Yeng Yeng, Jia Jun, etc are some of the friends that i still remember.

Since he will surely not read my blog, then, i can write it out now. It is about Yong Khai. Actually, i knew who he is when i was in Form 2 though we did not meet each other before. It is because KC gave a photo to me. In the photo, Yong Khai is there too. Then, we just knew each other when i was not able to attend one of the events which i were sick that time. He phoned me and send me regards since he was then the vice president of our year. We chatted for a while and i told him i knew him because he is KC's best friend. I feel comfortable with him because he is really a funny person but i feel uneasy with him sometimes because he always make fun of me with KC. I lied to him that i did not. In fact, it was. So sorry to him. My best friend who stayed opposite of his house likes to called him "black coal"@ "hei tan". So, i did not talk much with him though we are in a tuition centre which he asked me the reason that i seems afraid of him. Being immature that time, i just want to alienate myself with him because i feel very sorry and regret to make fun of him with the nickname. That is the reason that i kept not telling him. I was so childish that time...haiz... Anyway, he is really a nice and caring person. When i was first day in Sam Tet during my lower 6, he accompanied me to walk the whole building of the school to look for my friends which i am not familiar at all and we did it illegally( both of us just walked out from the class without the teachers' permission). A big thank you to you (i knew you won't know).

Thanks a lot for the memories that all of you gave me. Nice, happy, touching, tiring, warmth and helpful moments will remain in my heart forever. " yi re wei xue ji, zhong sheng yao xue xi"--Once you are "xue ji", you have to learn for the whole life.
